Underachievments

After being informed by Christopher that a) I have an alright blog but b) it is far below my writing capabilities I have (obviously) avoided making any blog posts for the last 2 weeks. I am going to make a much better effort in the blogging department in the future. I look forward to it, and I hope you do as well.

Christmas Presents

Well, unfortunately I've been too busy with family and stuff to be able to post this list sooner. I think I had a very good Christmas this year :) Here is a list that is in no particular order at all:

Dead Rising
Guitar Hero: World Tour (got that early)
Lips
Scene It
The Orange Box
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
Viva Piniata
Need For Speed: ProStreet
Fallout 3 (it's beautiful)
2800 Microsoft points (in which I bought Halo 3 legendary maps, castle crashers and bomberman live)
Some fancy shirts
An Xbox carrying case
DVD of Pixar short films
Aladdin Soundtrack
A pocket watch
A bow tie (I absolutely love my bow tie)
An M&Ms calender
A Microwave
$50
Halo 3 pajamas
Xbox 360 pajamas
Lots of candy
Some weird guitar thinger
A Guitar Gero guitar stand
A sweater with video game controllers on it
4 ties
I believe that is about it.
I am very happy with what got for Christmas, it'll keep me busy for a while.
Thank you everyone who got me something, you're wonderful.

P.S. Natalie got Wii Music for christmas, and I would like to let you all know that it is the absolute worst game that I have every played (and I have played a lot of bad games). You don't actually do anything in the game, you make random motions and your Mii just plays the specified song, it doesn't matter what you do. The only thing you have control over is the tempo.

P.S.S Christopher, for someone who recently got internet again, you haven't been online much. Go online or something. Your blog didn't mention anything about you getting a 360. What's the deal?

Christmas

Well, as you may have noticed my last post was actually on christmas eve. I didn't figure I would have a chance to blog on christmas. It seems I have a lot of time actually. Yet again, the excitement of christmas is causing me to not be able to sleep. I've gotten about an hour of sleep so far and it doesn't seem like I am going to get anymore but oh well! It's CHRISTMAS! :D I am damn excited, just like you all should be.
Merry Christmas... ladies.

Lack Of Resources.

Well, it seems my internet can't handle four computers, two wiis and two xbox(es?) running on the same connections. Every device is having major lag, whether the others are in use or not. I find myself having to restart my router multiple times in a day. I have made a good effort to try to locate the thief of my bandwidth with no success. I think my only choice is to change my connection to one with more bandwidth, but if I do that I lose my unlimited downloads. This is a tough choice, but I cannot handle this lag anymore. It's becoming... tiresome.

I Told You So Never Really Covers It

After reading multiple reviews, it seems Playstation's "Home" is an epic fail. The highly advertised and highly anticipated virtual world, seems to be nothing more than a 3D chatroom. I have yet to test it out myself, but my lack of a PS3 makes that difficult to do. It seems I wouldn't want to try it anyway. I've been on habbo, and acording to one review, habbo is in fact much more entertaining. Even though I am not a Playstation fan, I was looking forward to seeing what they would do with Home. Unfortunately, they looked at it as a free product, and apparently when you give something free, it doesn't have to be good. On the topic of the PS3, LittleBigPlanet had a lot of hype before it came out. The hype seems to have died down a lot since its release. The games still looks amazing, but hopefully it lasts. It wouldn't be a fun game without a large community backing it. So far Sony has not given me any reason to change my opinion of the PS3.
It is a fancy blu-ray player that you can play LittleBigPlanet on.

Fluffernutter

I don't know who all knows what Fluff is, but I can tell you what it is. It is absolutely delicious. It is a spreadable marshmallow cream. A "Fluffernutter" is a peanut butter and fluff sandwich. It is heaven... it just... it makes me orgasm out of my mouth. Try it, you won't regret it.

And his name was Steve...

There is a man named Steve. Right now he is making a presentation on computer science. So far he has just done a basic overview. Showing how cool technology is using demonstrations of the Macbook Air and the Iphone. He also mentioned that the industry is running out of people, the classes are half the size they were five years ago. Now he is going on about the Wii... ugh. Sure they are innovative, but at what cost? The integrity of video games. But that is for another blog. Interesting fact of the presentation so far: They had the technology for the Wii over 10 years ago, but the market wasn't there for it. The software that makes the hardware fun wasn't there.
NEW TECHNOLOGY!
Tablet PCs with pressure sensitivity. Codename: Zliding. Ability to make a 3D interface.
Blah blah blah, boring stuff about brains and MRIs.
He seems to have moved onto something new and I wasn't paying attention because I was reading things on the internets!
Alright well this presentation seems to be getting interesting.
NEW TECHNOLOGY!
Holograms! Not only static holograms, but dynamic holograms. (He explained them as holograms you can move around and holograms you can't)
He is making a big deal about controlling computers with your body and hands instead of keyboard and mouse. I like having input devices. Meh, I doubt like 80 inch computer screens will become mainstream, but you never know.
NEW TECHNOLOGY! (developed by a student)
3-D desktop with the ability to stack and organize. It looks neat.
I just signed up for the beta of the app. It looks neat, I doubt it is very practical though.
I haven't listened to Steve in a while, he seems to be talking about sports so i'm not concerned.
This is going to end up being a pretty long blog post.
He's talking about how much money people going into this field will be making and the gurentee of jobs that are available. It sounds promising. By how he's explaining it, as long as I'm good at this I am going to have a job handed to on a silver platter, where they are going to do everything they can to keep me at this job. My ego is big enough already, I don't need this to add to it. Completely off topic, I am wearing my PS2 shirt today. I normally avoid wearing it, due to the age of the PS2 and the lack of faith I have in Sony gaming systems. But it seems I should wear it more often, I have had atleast 6 people comment on it today, saying it was a sweet shirt. It's pretty comfy, so I'm happy with that.
Steve has a big picture of food on the screen and I don't really know why.
He's talking about art and animation now. It looks neat, and it's entertaining but I have no artistic ability which makes me not care. Animation and computer science shouldn't be looked at as the same thing, which to these technologically challenged people, Steve is making it sound like the same thing. Silly Steve. On the topic of Steve. Steve mentioned he has been in this field for 14 years and is now teaching at the University Of Toronto. He honestly looks about 20-25. Good job Steve.
I think I missed a lot, but he's still talking about animation. There is a picture of a cute dog on the screen. I want to hug it.
Steve's specialty is video game design, that explains his focus on animation.
Well I just learned something neat.
Byte
Kilobyte
Megabyte
Gigabyte
Terrabyte
Petabyte
Exabyte
There are a few bigger than that, but so far the biggest one we have used is Exabyte. Intense.
I don't think I want Steve to talk anymore. I'm getting quite bored.
Back to English I go.

Looking For Group

After reading all 218 Looking For Group comics yesterday, LFG is now in my top 5 webcomics. The story is captivating and it has the most well developed characters I have ever seen in a webcomic. I would really like to own LFG in book form, it would really be a true comic experience. LFG has also caused me to go back to fantasy land. I find myself looking for an excuse to play DnD or WoW (any mmo with a good character creator would do really). I really want to just find some friends to play an mmo so we can quest together. All of my previous mmo experiences have mostly been a lone adventure, I have yet to experience what mmos are really for. Partying with friends. If I can't find a good mmo... or friends (that have highspeed, stupid chris, jake and matt) I guess I'll just have to find some fellow DnD players. Looks like I have a quest after all.

With Reference To My Existence

Matt cannot copy my homework. Ever.

Alfred Nobel

Kudos Mr. Nobel, Kudos.
For the creation of:
The Nobel Peace Prize
The Nobel Physiology Prize
The Nobel Physics Price
The Nobel Economic Prize
and
The Nobel Literature Prize
Great men and women over the past century have won these prizes. Kudos to them as well.

P.S. Nobel did not create a mathematics award due to the fact his awards were "for those inventions or discoveries of greatest practical benefit to mankind" and according to the scientific community, math is not a practical science, it is merely a theoretical science. How silly...

Black Makes Things Sound Bad

The Black Donnellys weren't really all that bad. Yeah, they liked to fight, yes they committed petty crimes like theft and arson but their hate was no worse than the hate from the community. Every crime that was committed in the township was blamed on them, on many occasions they had nothing to do with it. But no matter what the Donnellys did, they didn't deserve to be killed. And all those jury members that let the men who killed the Donnellys get away with it are just as bad as the men who killed them. Oh well, atleast we could toss this into the small pile of interesting Canadian history. I just wish I could find out the real story, instead of this biased shit.

P.S. I believe I am going to call them The Yellow Donnellys from now on. Sounds much nicer.

My Banner Sucks

Pass it on.

The Promised Post

As promised to a fancy young lady by the name of Tess Reid? (I hope) I am making a blog post about her. During the first week of consistent interactions with her, I believed she was in fact, very consistent and predictable. Coffee House showed me otherwise. Tess with her wonderful comedy, specifically about the book Twilight (which is in fact a terrible book) took me by complete surprise. After the coffee house I believe I tackled her. Hmm... Well that was a fun night. Christopher Vesterfelt and I performed some songs that I wrote.

P.S. If you are reading this, you already missed Time Travelers Day; Douchebag.

It can be very difficult,

especially for some.

But with enough determination,

anything can be accomplished

'89 To Present

How did I ever let go of you?
Everyday I stop and wonder why;
I replaced you with something new.
I just tossed you away and said goodbye.

I see new bodies that are so pretty;
a sleek and younger creature.
I sit here and I know it's a pity,
that I am entranced by all its features.

But I realize every single time,
when this new love lets me down,
that what I've done to you is a crime
and that you are my accompanied noun.

The truth is I want you, yes.
You are my one and only NES

I Like To Do My Math; Not Yours

I don't know if someone missed the memo at some point but Canada did in fact switch the metric system over 35 years ago. I am learning the imperial system in my high school math class. Tsk tsk Ontario Curriculum writer people. Tsk tsk.

The Truth And Reconciliation

Things have been a little crazy in the political department in both Canada and the US.

Canadian Politics:
Well, Canada is a pretty cool country, with our whole democratic system rockin' away in Ottawa. Unfortunately, democracy seems to be crashing around us thanks to Mr. Harper. The Liberals, The Bloc and NDP parties formed a coalition in attempt to bring down Harper's reign. It would go down to another vote, technically, Harper could still win. But instead of letting our democratic system take place, Harper decided to postpone parliament until January. He is basically just making an attempt to hold onto his job. Unfortunately, during that time, Harper will have time to put out a new budget. This country's system and government were started by coalition governments. This country wouldn't be where it is today without the coalitions of the past. Getting in the way of this process is unpatriotic and goes against the system we believe in. Hopefully, when Canada gets to vote in January (yet again, before I myself can vote) they make the right choice.

American Politics:
Kudos to Obama. His policies are absolutely fantastic and it seems he will do great things in this world. He wants to introduce a health care system and said he would make an effort to introduce the metric system in the US (I wonder which neighbour he stole these ideas from). Unfortunately, the states is in a very poor financial situation. Obama will not have the finances to actually follow through on most of his promises. I just hope he is a strong enough leader to get the US through a possible depression

Ketchup

Well, it appears my old blog; abuttonfun.blogspot.com is gone. I checked all my old email accounts and successfully found the right one. I received an email that my account had been inactive for six months and I had to log in to keep the account. Since I no longer use that email, I couldn't really do that. So it seems I have some blogging to do. Sounds fun. I have had some ideas lately. I've got catching up to do... tomorrow.

I Know This Pretty Rave Girl

After playing through Guitar Hero: World Tour I believed I was getting much better at Guitar Hero. Unfortunately, it just turns out that World Tour is much easier than Guitar Hero 3. I enjoyed the challenge of 3. Oh well, I guess it's back to 3 I go. Expert!
